Identity Thief Posters Steal Online
Is Jason Bateman a sucker?

26 September 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Moviefone/Huffington Post

We haven't seen footage yet (that’s promised for tomorrow), but director Seth Gordon and his Identity Thief stars don’t want us all forgetting that the comedy is on its way. The film's first two posters are online and can be viewed below, courtesy of Moviefone and The Huffington Post.

Identity Thief stars Melissa McCarthy as Diana, a woman living life to the full on the outskirts of Miami. She’s a power shopper, spending the readies on anything and everything that takes her fancy.

There’s just one small problem – the identity she’s using to bankroll her lavish lifestyle isn’t hers. It belongs to one Sandy Bigelow Patterson, an accounts rep (Jason Bateman) who lives elsewhere in the US.

When he discovers what has happened, Sandy begins a quest from Denver to Florida to hunt Diana down and get his good name back before she spends every last cent and destroys his credit rating forever. He’s got a week to try and he’ll soon learn that it’s not going to be as easy as he might have thought...

With the likes of Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet, Genesis Rodriguez, Morris Chestnut, John Cho, Eric Stonestreet and Robert Patrick aboard, Identity Thief will arrive over here on March 1.

Hate to sound like a square...
...but I hope when the footage comes out, they haven't tried to make the fraudster the one we're supposed to root for. It's a pretty heinous thing to lazily spend someone else's money. At least bank robbers have to put a bit of effort into it. More
