Citadel Trailer Attacks The Web
'They can see your fear...'

12 September 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Yahoo!

Hoodies, eh? If they’re not trying to duff up Michael Caine or killing defenceless alien invaders, they’re looking to stalk and slaughter a poor single father and his innocent baby. Something ought to be done about it! Ciaran Foy decided to make a movie about that last one, and the result, psycho-horror-thriller Citadel, has a new trailer out via Yahoo. Take a look above.

Citadel finds Aneurin Barnard as Tommy Cowley, eking out a quiet existence in a decaying block of flats. His one joy in life is his wife, Joanne (Amy Shiels), who is expecting their daughter. But when some merciless, hooded thugs attack them one day, Joanne is left dying and Tommy is so shaken by the assault that he develops extreme agoraphobia.

With the seemingly feral youngsters taunting and tracking him, Tommy finds solace in a renegade priest (James Cosmo) who knows something about his tormentors. Together they decide to try to save Tommy’s family...

A homegrown British horror that has already terrorised audiences at the SXSW fest, Citadel will arrive on US screens on October 19, while also showing that very same night at the London Film Festival. There doesn’t appear to be a set UK release date yet, but Revolver Entertainment has just snapped it up, so expect an announcement soon.

It was funded by the Irish Film Board and developed by another Irish company (Blinder Films) Not really that British, is it? More
