The quote below from 24 Hours Vancouver is not, by any stretch of the imagination, the Joss-Whedon-on-Avengers-2 quote to end all Joss-Whedon-on-Avengers-2 quotes – but it is a pretty intriguing one.
His response went almost exactly like this: "The creation of the team is not the happy ending," he said. "It is the beginning of something that is complex and difficult, and now I get to dig a little deeper. And maybe, while I'm digging, just twist that knife. And that's exciting for me."
Complex, as Whedon points out, is definitely the word. How his words "twist the knife" will turn out on screen remains to be seen, but it's very encouraging to learn that the bickering bantering between the superhero team isn't going anywhere.
Then there's the conundrum of how to get Loki back in the picture. Much loved and frequently quoted by any self-respecting Avengers fan, it would be a damn shame to not get the horned antihero back – but considering where he was left at the end of The Avengers (shackled and zoomed back to Asgard), fans will have to wait until Thor: The Dark World to see if the two brothers will work out their differences.
So this is a call to commenting arms, ladies and gentlemen. How would you like Whedon to twist the knife in Avengers 2? Refresh your memory by reading our How To Ensure Avengers 2 Is Awesome feature then let us know what you think in the poll and comment box below.
And don't forget, Avengers 2 is set for a May 1 2015 release date, which is approximately... too far away. Sorry about that.
Well if previous form is anything to go by, he's probably going to kill off someone important, very suddenly, probably after they just made you happy/laugh. More

making him watch Evil Dead 2. That film always leaves me feeling like it's not a bad old world. More
