Smashed Trailer Online
Winstead & Paul tackle alcoholism

After winning positive reviews – particularly for Mary Elizabeth Winstead's performance – at Sundance, romantic drama Smashed is now making its way into regular cinemas. The first trailer has arrived via Yahoo and can be viewed below.

Smashed peeks in at the life of Kate (Winstead) and hubby Charlie (Aaron Paul), a couple who like to party. A lot. They go out drinking most nights and seem to have a handle on it.

But then Kate’s behaviour and addictions start getting out of control, especially given that she’s an elementary school teacher, and the pair decides that they really need to cut back. They soon discover, however, that it’s not quite as simple as agreeing to do it. Especially given Kate’s complicated relationship with her booze-happy mother (Mary Kay Place).

With the likes of Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman and Octavia Spencer (sorry – Academy Award Winner Octavia Spencer, to give her the proper trailer billing), Smashed looks like it could be by turns tough and delightful. But we do think Charlie could really help his wife by not sneaking off too cook meth with that dangerous former chemistry teach… Sorry… Breaking Bad crossover there.

The movie is out in the US on October 12, but doesn’t have a UK date just yet. We’re hoping it’ll get one ASAP.
