New Blade Runner Blu-ray Trailer Arrives To celebrate its 30th anniversary... 11 September 2012 | Written by Ali Plumb | Source: Warner Bros. Online YouTube
Following in the footsteps of Total Recall, Jaws and Lawrence Of Arabia's Blu-ray trailers comes this surprisingly not high definition teaser for Ridley Scott's sci-fi masterpiece, Blade Runner.
Forgoing the 1080p quality YouTubers are longing for, the WarnerBrosOnline account has instead gone for 480p, which may look a little blocky on larger screens.
If you're willing to forgive it that, this re-cut trailer sees some interesting editing and some unexpecting echoing ("More human than human is our motto... motto... motto...") that may well make your online ordering finger itching to buy the special 30th anniversary Blu-ray once it hits shelves on October 29 - even if there's no hint of the much-loved Vangelis score.
Then again, the original theatrical trailer isn't the best of its kind, clocking in at over three minutes and not really explaining anything about the film... at all. Take a look at it again to refresh your memory and let us know what you think in the comment box below.
The Blade Runner - 30th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition is currently available for pre-order, and will be released on October 29.
oh- lighten-up kids! you get a spinner with this one (if you get in quick- and yes, we all know about the fancy suitcase edition last time around with one and origami unicorns etc. but who could afford one?)! brum-brum!
seriously though- i love the film but didn't have blu ray last time and missed the 5-disc, which has been expensive to find since, so will put this on my santa list.
it still is the most flawed piece of eye-candy however you try to defend it-

Never too late to milk the cash cow...
Is this "30th Anniversary" blu ray any different in the "Final Cut" set that came out 5 years ago? It doesn't appear to be, as all the extras that are on the 07 release are on this set.
Has Sir Ridley been talking to Lucasfilm about how to wring as much money from a property as possible? How many times will people buy the same film?
One too far for me,I'm afraid

Best movie of all time. Period.
I don't like the trailers. The absence of Vangelis' brilliant score in the "new" trailer is unforgivable!
And yes, the old one is too long and overly complicated. Much unlike the movie. :-) More

Is this to be an empathy test?
Is this some way to test the appeal of Bladerunner before the potential sequel/prequeal/cash-in? The trailer offers only the thought that I may be seduced into buying yet a further copy of the same film again. Ridley, by all means please make the sequel but don't bleed the original film any more and don't muck it up like Prometheus! More

No offence intended to anyone, but this is just the 2007 Final Cut trailer with a couple of brief '30th anniversary' and 'Blu-Ray' bits hastily slapped on. All the echoing effects, music choices, and other editing were present when this was put out half a decade ago. More
