Looks like Gina Carano will be getting some tough opposition and a supportive father in her new thriller In The Blood. Because Danny Trejo and Avatar’s Stephen Lang are both in negotiations to sign on.
John Stockwell is behind the megaphone for the movie, which sees Carano as a woman whose husband vanished while they’re on a Caribbean holiday. Thinking he’s been kidnapped and killed, she heads off on a mission to track down the men she believes responsible.
One of those she’ll tangle with is Trejo, as a thug called Big Biz. Lang, meanwhile, will be her dad, the man who trained her to be tough and self-reliant.
Bennett Yellin and James Robert Johnston cranked out the first draft of the script, which has seen some buffing from Sean Finnegan and Gregg Parker.
Everyone is headed to Puerto Rico in November to begin production. Carano has been at work shooting Fast Six in London, and will move on to Blood next. Trejo is set to return as the former Federale in Machete Kills, due next year and will also be seen in Vengeance. Lang has a variety of movies headed through post-production including Pawn, Officer Down, The Girl On The Train and Backmask.
