If it's put in the right hands, this could really be a great film. They may have to make a few adjustments though, as the continuity is almost 90's X-Men in its convolution, and a lot of aspects of it are probably a bit too Japanese to translate well.

A name actor like Gerard Butler or Bradley Cooper as some people are suggesting may give the movie the wrong image, both these guys have a lot of romance and comedy in their filmography. How about the up and coming duo of Refn and Gosling? I think Gosling could pull it off, he's certainly proved himself to have acting chops (not that you'll need great acting chops to play Snake). As far as Refn goes: he does not shy away from violence, he has a distinct visual-style and atmospheric visuals. I think David Hayter should play snake, he IS the voice and Solid Snake's looks are based on him after all & Kojima should direct as he originally planned on being a movie director before moving onto the game scene (Hence why the MGS games are known as "Cut-scene heavy"). More

Once upon a time I would have said Kurt Russell would be perfect, but he's probably too old now. Christian Bale is maybe a bit too clean cut for this part.
