Ben Foster Ready For Red Light Winter
A new indie drama

29 August 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Variety

Ben Foster Ready For Red Light Winter

Actor-playwright Adam Rapp has already got a coupe of indie movies under his belt. He’s been having a little more trouble getting his latest – Red Light Winter – made, but appears to finally be making real progress, with Ben Foster joining Kirsten Dunst and Katherine Waterson in the movie.

Adapted from Rapp’s own play, Winter focuses on two guys who travel from New York to Amsterdam, only to get wrapped up in a love triangle with a prostitute (Dunst). And if that wasn’t awkward enough, the tension brings real issues in their friendship bubbling back to the surface.

Rapp had originally locked in Mark Ruffalo and Billy Crudup to take the leading roles, but they had to drop out due to a change in schedule. Now Foster is taking over Ruffalo’s role, while Rapp is looking for someone to fill in for Crudup. Assuming he finds the right actor, the plan is to shoot the film in December or January.

Foster is about to ship out to star in Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor and will next be seen as William Boroughs in Kill Your Darlings.
