Adrien Brody Off To Motor City
Replacing Gary Oldman as the bad guy

26 August 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Variety

Adrien Brody Off To Motor City

The casting changes just keep on coming for Albert Hughes’ new thriller Motor City, which makes us hope he’s started writing the actor list in pencil. The latest change in the roster is focused around the villain, with Gary Oldman is out and Adrien Brody is in negotiations to replace him.

Motor City features (at least for now) Gerard Butler as a recently released prisoner who goes on the hunt for the man who framed him. At the moment, he’s the only confirmed cast member, as the likes of Dominic Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Amber Heard and Oldman have all come and gone. Mickey Rourke was mentioned as a possibility recently, but there’s no word on whether he’ll stick around.

Either way, Hughes is committed to getting the thing made, and will start working from Chad St John’s script next month in Atlanta, aiming at an April release date in the US.

Brody was last seen in Midnight In Paris and education drama Detachment. He’s recently finished working on Chinese draught drama 1942 and something called InAPPropriate Comedy, which also stars Michelle Rodriguez and Rob Schneider.
