The cast and crew of Len Wiseman's Total Recall got its collective ass down to Leicester Square last night to meet its public and generally bask in the red carpet glamour. With Arnold Schwarzenegger also in London to talk Expendables 2, it meant two Doug Quaids in the city at exactly the same time. Philip K. Dick would surely approve.
Colin Farrell, Bill Nighy, Kate Beckinsale and Wiseman himself were all present and correct to chat to the crowds about Quaid's new adventures. "In the film I'm either fighting, jumping, falling, shooting or being shot at," grinned Farrell, whose version of the sci-fi enigma is strictly Earthbound in the new version. Hit the video for all the lowdown from the carpet.
Farrell's Quaid, like Arnie's before him, takes a trip to Rekall Corporation that he quickly comes to regret. One offed SWAT team later and he's up and running, a pawn at the heart of a deeper conspiracy.
Find out how he gets on when Total Recall is released in cinemas on August 29.

Total Repeat
I don't know why they're doing all the promotion for Total Recall now when it doesn't open for 2 weeks (is it because the stars want to be long gone by the time this stinker opens?). This is Expendables 2's opening weekend. The more I see of this remake, the more it just looks like a lazy, uninspired copy or, when it does try something different, it reeks of creative desperation. Even worse, they don't go to Mars in this one which lifted the whole Schwarzenegger film. More
