The Expendables 2 Premieres In London
Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Statham, JCVD

14 August 2012  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

Londoners will be relieved to know that Leicester Square is still standing this morning - which may come as a surprise given that Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme hit town last night. Of course, they weren't really throwing bombs and devastating punches once they arrived. The happy occasion was the premiere of The Expendables 2, in association with Netflix.

The film, of course, sees Stallone return as mercenary leader Barney Ross, Jason Statham as his loyal second Lee Christmas and Dolph Lundgren as unhinged team member Gunner. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the leader of a rival team whose path crosses Stallones, and Jean-Claude Van Damme brings the menace as ne'er-do-well Jean Vilain. It may not shock you to know that he's a Vilain by name, and a villain by nature.

Simon West took over the directorial reins from Stallone himself this time, and the film also features Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, Jet Li, Nan Yu, Liam Hemsworth, Randy Couture and Terry Crews. And judging by photos like this from some Olympic guests in attendance, Netflix must have thrown quite a party.

The Expendables 2 is out on Thursday, August 16, so brace for impact.
