We’ve known the US telly adaptation of the Luc Besson-produced Transporter films were on their way via American cable channel Cinemax. We also knew that Chris Vance would be stepping into the Stath’s sharp suits and stunt moves as Frank Martin. What we were left to guess at is how closely the show would mirror the movies’ particular OTT style. Now we have some footage in the trailer, which you can watch below.
Transporter finds Martin doing what he does best: making sure sensitive packages make their way to the appropriate person without nasty types intercepting them. Or, if the nasty types do intercept them, that he dishes out the maximum amount of pain to anyone getting in his way.
Naturally, given the movies’ propensity for attractive women, bad gangsters and car-smashing action, this isn’t always so cut and dried. From the looks of this – and given that Strike Back producer Cinemax is driving the show – it looks like we’re in for more of the same, albeit without the Stath’s scowl. But you do at least get François Berléand as Inspector Tarconi.
There’s no word on when this one will actually hit screens, and there has been talk of behind-the-scenes creative issues, but it might end up as a fill in for anyone missing their Stath-as-Frank fix...
Looks Crap. And its just that annoying guy from Prison Break season 3...... Great. More

RE:
At the very least this might highlight just how good an action star Statham is, and how it isn't quite as easy as he makes it look.

Problem is, this LOOKS and SOUNDS like a Cinemax film. Shame, because a Transporter TV show could have been great. More

Broke the first rule
Chris Vance Looks painfully bland and his dialogue sounds weak and half-hearted. While everyone else seems to deliver their lines and personalities through a layer of Cheese. Quality Television this is not. I doubt it'll go beyond a pilot or First season. More
