Hailee Steinfeld Up For Dead Of Winter

Hailee Steinfeld Up For Dead Of Winter

The acting gigs just keep rolling on in for Hailee Steinfeld, who is now attached to yet another project, survival thriller Dead Of Winter. The film has landed a director in the shape of ads / music video veteran Anthony Mandler, who will use the project as his first big screen film test.

Given how often this seems to be the case these days, it might not shock you to learn that the screenplay, written by Sarah Conradt, showed up on the 2011 Black List of the favourite unproduced works floating around Hollywood’s development offices and studio halls.

If it all comes together, Steinfeld would play a teenager who goes to a remote cabin in the mountains with her beloved dad and his new wife – a trip he’s hoping will help the two women through a difficult bonding process.

Their attempt at quality time is somewhat hampered by a dangerous fugitive who shows up, posing as a park ranger, putting them all in danger. Still, we suppose the stepfamily that is preyed on together, stays together…

Lionsgate is looking to lock in a deal to make this and the producers want it shooting by early next year. Steinfeld will next show up in the likes of Romeo And Juliet, Ender’s Game and Can A Song Save Your Life?
