Reese Witherspoon Sticks On The Beard
In romantic-comedy

08 August 2012  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen  |  Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Reese Witherspoon Sticks On The Beard

If it's a Wednesday, it must be a rom-com for Reese Witherspoon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress has put her scrawl next to The Beard, a romantic-comedy in which she'll play the pretend girlfriend of a gay man (or men), in a project she's also producing.

There are few plot details to hand but the script, which comes courtesy of newcomer Becca Greene, sounds like it will pitch Witherspoon into a variety of awkward clinches while she attempts to sort out her own dismaying love life. A reverse My Best Friend's Wedding, then?

After a relatively quiet year or two for the actress - for all kinds of good family-related reasons - the Witherspoon slate is filling up again. With Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, Atom Egoyan's The Devil's Knot alongside Colin Firth, and indie drama Mud all heading to our screens, there'll be plenty to keep Witherspooners happy.

First priority, though, will be to work with co-producer Peter Chernin to find a director. Help them out with your suggestions in the usual place.

No interest whatsoever. It's a great premise, but with Greasy Resesy involved, it'll undoubtedly be "girl meets guy, girl discovers guy is gay but becomes his beard anyway, only for guy to realise he;s not really gay and fall for reese. I'd be willing to put money on that, seriously. More
