Mickey Rourke In For Sin City 2?
And in talks for Motor City...

Mickey Rourke In For Sin City 2?

During the many, many years that a Sin City sequel has been in development, one of the biggest question marks has been whether Mickey Rourke would return to play Marv in the prequel/sequel/interquel. Now it seems that he's willing to don the necessary prosthetics once more, as he's in talks for the role in A Dame To Kill For. And he's also in negotiations for Albert Hughes' Motor City to boot.

To take the latter first, the film is set to star Gerard Butler (replacing the briefly-cast Jake Gyllenhaal) as an ex-Army Ranger named John Miller who is betrayed and sent to prison by a man who then also steals his girlfriend (insult to injury, that). We're not sure yet what role Rourke would be playing - surely he wouldn't steal Butler's girl! - but hopefully all will become clear as and when he signs up.

As for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, Rourke would once again play insanely hard hard-man Marv, who paid a fatal visit to the electric chair in the last film after going on a revenge killing spree over the death of a prostitute. Still, since this is a chronologically varied sequel, that doesn't stop him reappearing here.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is due out, in 3D, on October 4, 2013, and Motor City is also due next year. We'll be keeping an eye on both as they move forward.

Don't hold your breath
Not when Rodriguez is intent on spewing out more Spy Kids Machete B grade grindhouse nonsense every couple of years. We've been hearing this since 2005. More

Can't wait for this...
Frank miller has fallen out of favour, and his last comic book was been a bit shody, but Sin City is still one of my all time favourites. I just hope this next movie is as good. Some of the writing in Hell and Back is absolutely amazing, and the writers from Taken 2 could learn a lot about how revenge should be handled. http://shortymonster.wordpress.com/2012/08/06/revenge-a s-a-game-hook/ More

Sin city 2
Sin city 2 has taken so long to come out I have moved three times. Become a father, changed my job a few times and gotten quite fat to boot. I'm getting bored of waitng. But I hope it will be worth it as Rodriguez seems like his more Into doing silly B movies. More

Is the Sin City sequel definitely going to happen, or will Rodriguez faff about with more Spy Kids / Machete nonsense instead? More
