Expendables 2 Last Supper Poster Lands
Sly kingdom come, Sly will be done

If you've ever dreamt of seeing the entire cast of Expendables 2 sitting down to dinner like they're in Da Vinci's Last Supper, then prepare to have your day made.

In a spectacular move from the Lionsgate publicity department, you can now find out what Sly Stallone would look like if he were pretending to be Jesus (in a way).

If you'll allow us to provide a little bit of textual analysis for this beauty of an ensemble poster, you may be interested to discover that "Dodgy" Dolph Lundgren (who betrayed the team in the original Expendables) is sitting in Judas' seat, and on the right of Mr. Stallone, sitting in John the Apostle's hotspot, you'll discover a lady by the name of Maggie as played by Yu Nan, who was last seen on Western screens in Speed Racer.

But why would a newcomer be flanking his Slyness? Surely Ying Yang (Jet Li) would be a better fit? Well, the gag is that after an extraordinary conspiracy theory that the figure of John the Apostle might be a woman see here for more details it's probably most appropriate to have the only female member of the cast take that spot.

To compare and constrast Da Vinci's original and Sly's own take, here's the 15th century masterpiece (in JPG form) for you below.

Of course, it's not the first time that a movie poster has received the Last Supper treatment, with Morgan Spurlock creating an intentionally tasteless version during the promotion of The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.

Nor is it the first time Sly Stallone has been associated with The Vatican, as this remarkably similar painting of a holy so-and-so proves. The 1511 fresco in question is Raphael's The Cardinal and Theological Virtues as we're sure you know.

A coincidence? It can't be...

RE: "And Give Us This Adrian, Our Daily Steroids."
Horrendous photoshopping and airbrushing as usual - come back and save the art of movie posters, Drew Struzan et al!   Sorry to be pedantic, but this one really bothers me as well. The name 'Leonardo Da Vinci' refers to the fact that he came from a town called Vinci, in Tuscany. His real full name was actually o di ser Piero da Vinci, oughly translates as 'Leonardo, son of Sir of Vinci'. In other words, Leonardo had no conventional surname, and it's totally wrong to refer to him as 'Da More

Another one to add to the 'Bad photoshop' list
Seriously, the faces on this poster look as grotesque as the classic animation-style poster from Animal House. Eugh! More
