New Resident Evil Trailer Online
Milla tells the story so far

New Resident Evil Trailer Online

The Resident Evil series continues whether you want it to or not, and with Retribution on the way, here's a handy recap on what you've missed so far. It looks like a trailer to us, but the official word is "featurette", and who are we to argue with an armed Milla Jovovich?

The clip does a reasonable job of turning the series' convoluted continuity into something that seems to make vague sense. Milla's Alice wakes up to find the world has ended in a zombie apocalypse* and that she's one of the few people who are immune. There's some fighting. She gets abducted by the corrupt Umbrella Corporation and experimented on. There's some fighting. She develops superpowers and gets cloned. There's some fighting. You get the picture.

There are some omissions though. At no point does Alice say "And then my superpowers went away again," and at no point does she talk about listening to A Perfect Circle all the time. And there's no mention of that virus that could drink rivers. Which is probably wise.

There are some clips of the new movie though, which you can see more of in the already-available trailer. Milla will once again be disconnecting and destructing one bullet at a time, and having her day to die, on September 28. She's joined on this occasion by Michelle Rodriguez, Kevin Durand, Sienna Guillory, Oded Fehr, Li Bingbing and Johann Urb, and the director, for the third time out of five, is Mr Milla, Paul WS Anderson.

*We hear your fanboy moaning about the difference between "zombies" and "infected", and we don't care.

Paul Anderson and Len Wiseman
Two guys who've made a career out directing crap films that mainly show off how hot their wives are. Resi Evil is still the franchise I'd most like to see rebooted when Anderson is done harvesting it - give it five years and then come back and do a proper haunted house horror movie. More
