Winstead Lives In The Spectacular Now

James Ponsoldt, who is buy filming indie comedy drama The Spectacular Now, has two reasons to celebrate today. First, he’s secured full financing for the movie, and second, he’s added some great actors in the shape of Kyle Chandler, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Bob Odenkirk and Andre Royo.

Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller are starring in the movie, which has Teller as a high school senior who decides that his big mission in life will be to reach out to the introvert (Woodley) he decides is wasting her life as a social outcast. Suffice to say, things aren’t as simple as that.

There’s no word on which roles the new arrivals will play in the movie, but we do know they’re joining Brie Larson, Kaitlyn Dever, Nasam Holden and Dayo Okeniyi in the cast.

(500) Days Of Summer writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H Weber adapted the script from Tim Tharp’s novel, and their work landed on the 2009 Black List, attracting plenty of interest before Ponsoldt got involved. It’s shooting right now in Georgia.
