Full Skyfall Trailer Is Here!
First real look at Bond villain Silva

31 July 2012  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: Sony

submit to reddit

We saw him jumping out of a helicopter with Her Majesty at the Olympics Opening Ceremony the other day, but now James Bond is back in full-on action in the latest, lengthy trailer for Skyfall. This is our best look yet at Sam Mendes' upcoming Bond effort, and we'd say this is rather promising.

In the mix there you can see that Judi Dench has once again been taking the tough decisions, and has left her agents in trouble as a result. Ralph Fiennes is disapproving; Ben Whishaw's Q is introduced with a nifty gift for Bond; Naomie Harris can't quite decide if she wants to groom Bond or shoot him; Berenice Marlohe warns of danger ahead and looks good doing it; and Javier Bardem has finally found a haircut less flattering than the one he sported in No Country For Old Men.

Joking aside, the action looks pretty bloomin' promising here, whether it's falling from neon-lit skyscrapers, ripping the backs off trains (gorgeous little touch there as Bond adjusts his cuff), standing in front of a speeding Tube train or Bond shooting up whatever joint in which he finds himself.

Skyfall hits our screens on October 26, and also features Helen McCrory, Albert Finney and Ola Rapace.

Trailer thought...
At 2:09 in this trailer, id anyone else spot that Bond has a patch of blood on his right shoulder, where he was shot by Naomie Harris off the top of a train...connected scene maybe? Just food for thought... More

well, that looks rather brilliant doesn't it?!
Oh my goodness... there's nothing quite like James Bond looking pretty much on top of his game to get the excitement levels up into the red. Craig looks awesome, as does the action and the cast is superb. I cannot wait for this, and in my birthday month too! Now there was that other chap wasn't there? American, a spy, amnesiac... wasn't he meant to be better than 007? Hmmm, looks like Mr Greengrass and Jason Bourne were misinformed. shame, never mind boys. More

the bulls**t i heard...
Can't believe the tabloids were saying that Mendes commissioned rewrites to write out action in favour of character driven dialogue scenes in a bid for an oscar... Complete horses**t! Can't wait. More

Looks brilliant.
Looks brilliant. Mendes seems to have taken it to a new level. Cant wait for this!! In terms of sheer emotional heft (I cried at the end more than I ever have), Nolan's nailed it I think DK remains the superior film - a tighter, more accessible film. This isn't to suggest DKR isn't completely brilliant but it's certainly more of a 'superhero movie' than DK, which was rooted in something more like reality. DKR's tone is far more closely shared with BB, the odyssean travails (God I sound More

FLASHMAN
Bond Is Back! The trailer implication is that we will see a mission in the old style, but they are charting a new course to keep it fresh for the makers & the viewers, so this will not happen, but they seem to have learned from the utter fiasco that was Quantum - half the thrills come from verbal needling between Jimmy & The Baddie and that element looks very special indeed...............the blonde hair might be a clue.............a relative of Max Zorin?...............better still, if More

Looks good. Can't wait.     Craig is lookin kinda old in some shots though.. nowhere near Moore in aVtaK of course, and it also makes him look a little more grumpy which is kinda cool I guess. Hope Bardem and Fiennes deliver!     More

Moore > all the rest
Moore: style, essential Britishness, humour, and his lack of brawn meant a credible vunerability in fight scenes therefore greater reliance on ruthlessness. Also had an under-rated serious side, brought by having the best villains. Connery: boring as mahogany, wife beater style, actually screamed like a girl in one of the movies (can't remember which one). George Lazenby: 15 seconds, no impression. Dalton: two good Bond movies, but was never going to have wider appal. Brosnan: could have More

Bond was issued with a signature gun in Licence To Kill, this looks like it is going to be one of the best Bonds, Connery is the benchmark, but he was only good in 3 of the films, and phoned in his performances in the later ones, Craig is a far better actor than Connery ever was. More

Best Bond since 'From Russia with Love"?
Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Sean, and this film looks like it could be up there alongside the greatest episodes. Great locations, great action (with substance), great characters (New Q looks understated geek), beautiful women, a credible threat, a slice of humour without the camp, all adds up to a potential great great film. Daniel should make another 4 Bond films and bow out, leaving behind the hardest act to follow and going down in history as the closest to the 'Fleming' Bond. More

I Want Skyfall
Looks terrific, but then so did the trailer for Quantum of Bollocks. I see they've knicked the old signature gun from Judge Dredd. Bond was with the Queen the other day, is that a coded message that Brian May and Roger Taylor will be doing the theme tune at long last? Hmm watch this space... More

Really? You didn't think that trailer looked awesome? Have you ever watched... erm... a film? L: BatSpider One of the best things about the Bond series is the unique signature tune. Cant Wait!
It looks quite bombastic! Yes! That word is entirely appropriate! Also thinking Berenice is gonna be the "to have", so obviously she'll die, and Naomie is to hold, so she'll survive and become a super spy in her own right. If Bond has taught me anything it's those two things about women characters. Also the more ridiculous the villain the more fun to be had. Oh yes. More
