Taylor Kitsch Joins The Grand Seduction

After the double punch of John Carter and Battleship’s disappointments (not to mention the relatively quiet US box office take for Savages), Taylor Kitsch is looking to change things up for the future and tackle something with a little smaller. He and Brendan Gleeson are jumping aboard Canadian director Don McKellar’s next film, The Grand Seduction.

A remake of 2003 French comedy drama Le Grande Seduction, the film is set in a small harbour town that needs to lock in a doctor so that it can become the site of a much-needed new factory. Gleeson’s character will be the man charged with tracking down the right medical sort (we assume that will be Kitsch) and he will then work with the whole town to convince his target to stay.

With a script written by Michael Dowse and the original film’s scribe Ken Scott, McKellar has also rounded up a cast including Gordon Pinsent, Mary Walsh, Cathy Jones and Liane Balaban. The film is shooting right now in Newfoundland.

He's very good as Tim Riggins though, so if I was him I'd be using what little clout I had to help get the Friday Night Lights movie made. More

Did anyone actually LOOK at this guy before they cast him as John Carter? I mean ick. It's pretty bad when you're cheering for Dominic West to run off with the girl because he's just... well he doesn't look like a runny nose and allergies will take him down. You want an actor to play a hero, at least cast someone who looks like they don't need antihistamines to get through an ordinary day. With guys like Channing Tatum and Chris Hemsworth running around the person that thought this was a goo More
