John Leguizamo Nabs Kick-Ass 2
He'll also crop up in The Counsellor

John Leguizamo Nabs Kick-Ass 2

Before he attempts to convince the world (or at least those of us who remember the original) that he’s the natural successor to David Jason as Del Boy in the US telly take on Only Fools And Horses, Jon Leguizamo is squeezing in some quick film work. He’s locked in a role on Ridley Scott’s The Counsellor and has also signed on to the Kick-Ass 2 cast.

For The Counsellor, Leguizamo will be a low-level drug dealer who will presumably come into contact with Michael Fassbender’s lawyer when the latter tries his hand at the narcotics business. Leguizamo is joining an already hefty cast that includes Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and recent addition Dean Norris. They’re all getting set to work from a script by Cormac McCarthy.

Then there’s the Kick-Ass sequel, which reunites stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and even Nicolas Cage. Leguizamo has snagged the role of Javier, the bodyguard assigned to watch Red Mist (Plasse)’s back as he plots his evil rise to power. Jeff Wadlow has written that one and will be directing it in Toronto this September.

How can you compare his roles in Moulin Rouge, Ice Age, Romeo & Juliet, Summer of Sam, Mario Bros (had to put it in there), ER to name just a few?! More

Should do more!!
I think Leguizamo is one of Hollywood's best actors; how does he not get more and bigger roles? Other than the Ice Age films I am struggling to think of a film that he has headlined in ages (correct me if I'm wrong) despite his awesomeness! I will never forget his scene stealing turn in ER... More
