Jaws Blu-Ray Trailer Arrives Online
You're going to need a wider screen...

25 July 2012  |  Written by Ali Plumb

The Jaws Blu-ray finally arrives on September 3, and to celebrate that fact, the marketing team behind the high-definition re-release have unveiled a recut trailer of Spielberg's 1975 masterpiece.

Clocking in at just over 60 seconds, it's more of a teaser trailer than the original three minute version, forgoing the looming voiceover - "It is as if God created the devil and gave him... jaws" - and concentrating on the striking visual imagery cinematographer Bill Butler and Spielberg conjured up over 35 years ago.

Of course, certain lines make their presence felt - barracudas, panic and the necessity for larger aquatic vessels are mentioned - but it's more or less an entirely new trailer, following in the footsteps of our exclusive Total Recall teaser recently unveiled to tie in with the Blu-ray re-release of Arnie's favourite Martian memory trip.

If this trailer has reminded you just how much you love Jaws, check out our oral history of the film, as well as this still-stupidly-funny YouTube parody, Must Love Jaws. Warning: you must love Jaws to fully enjoy Must Love Jaws. You have been warned.

And just in case you forget, Jaws arrives on Blu-ray on September 3.

No CG Shark... thank Christ
Whenever a film like this gets a Blu Ray release I always fear a "special" edition. Praise the Lord - the shark still looks crap, charm in tact. More

best film of 2012
you can keep your overblown superhero tat - Jaws is real film making magic the like of which we see once in a blue(ray) moon. I have loved this movie since I saw it as a kid in 1977 (it took that long to get to my local cinema) and after going on the Jaws ride at Universal the year before. Anyone who reckons the shark 'looks fake' is a bit of a dick to be honest. And, more crucially, still missing the whole point of this movie. Its a study in dark, eerie, SUBTLE terror with superb acting, scri More

What we are dealing with here...
...is a total lack of respect for the law. Dududududa... I can't help but hear that and, in Jaws' case, he does... More

Must Love Jaws
I've just had to stifle my giggles in the office whilst quietly watching Must Love Jaws. Genius. P.S. Cannot wait for this blu-ray. More
