New Trailer For The Master Arrives
Philip Seymour Hoffman starts a religion

20 July 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Yahoo

Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest, much anticipated film The Master hits US cinemas in October and the promotional campaign is definitely heating up. Yesterday brought a poster for the movie and today delivers the latest trailer via Yahoo, which can be seen below.

The Master sees Joaquin Phoenix as Freddie Sutton, a man adrift after World War Two. Shaken and broken by what he has seen and done, Freddie is descending into booze and debauchery.

But he’s offered a chance at something else by the charismatic Lancaster Dodd (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and Freddie becomes his right-hand man, much to the concern of Dodd’s wife, Mary Sue (Amy Adams).

As Dodd’s faith-based organisation (which some have suggested is a prod at L Ron Hubbard’s Scientology) grows, rifts begin to develop between the volatile Freddie and the smart but secretive Lancaster.

This promises to be another intriguing Anderson piece, and hopefully lives up to the likes of There Will Be Blood and Magnolia.

There’s no word yet on when The Master will arrive on these shores.

Everyone who made this film. Looks stunning, a great cast and a director who is in desperate need of an Oscar. More

Astonishing
That is a quite extraordinary trailer for film that I can only think will be absolutely brilliant. I love that fact that PT Anderson seems to have found his own style with There Will Be Blood and this, as opposed to the Magnolia and Biogie Nights which fantastic though they are, obviously have something Altmanesque about them. I simply cannot wait. More

Fucking Hell
Even by PT Anderson's (very) high standards, that looks like it could be fucking brilliant! (apologies for the excessive swearing) More

Squeee!
More excited about this than Batman. Which I didn't think was possible, but then I remembered how addicted I was to There Will Be Blood, which is the film I've watched the most in the last 5 years, leading to a mental problem whereby I would suddenly yell 'Draaaaainage'. More
