The supporting actors have had their moment. The costumes. The props. But today’s Skyfall videoblog focuses on one of the more iconic elements of any Bond movie: namely, his car. For the new movie, Bond is pulling his classic, personal Aston Martin DB5 out of the garage for a spin, and you can watch the blog below.
With the likes of director Sam Mendes talking up his memories of the classic Aston and the toy version that all readers of a certain age (and even younger ones who got their hands on one) will recall fondly. Even if the tiny accessories did have an annoying habit of going walkabout.
The DB5 certainly looks the part and it’ll be a healthy nod to the past (one of several, if Mendes’ comments here and elsewhere are anything to go on) as Bond turns 50, but doesn’t look a day over 49.
With Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw and Ola Rapace among the cast and Mendes calling the shots, Skyfall will be out on October 26. Oh, and head here for a look at some new pics of Bond in action.
Truly oozes class and sophistication...I want one! And Quantum of Solace wasn't half as bad as people make it out to be...it's main disadvantage was it came right after one of THE best Bond films ever. More
thing of sublime beauty isn't it? so much sexier than modern versions - of just about any car.
and Bond is just such an event, so worth waiting for every time. it makes up for all that crap we have to wade through - that some people class as movies - worth it.
do us proud Mr Mendes More
