The Dark Knight Rises In London
Nolan's latest premieres

19 July 2012  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

A tumbler at the Dark Knight Rises European premiere in London

After the months and years of waiting, the weeks of nail-biting excitement and the flurry of trailers, posters and clips, it's now less than 24 hours until The Dark Knight Rises on general release. And last night in London, the film premiered to cheering crowds with the stars in attendance.

Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway and Morgan Freeman all waxed lyrical about working with Christopher Nolan, and promised that this brings the trilogy to a conclusion (but don't worry; this is spoiler-free).

The Dark Knight Rises is, of course, out tomorrow. Brace yourselves - or hype yourself further by reading our 5-star review here and/or our Dark Knight features here.

RE:
L: BabsyBuck I was there! It was fantastic, TOm hardy was so nice as was Christian Bale. Shame I couldn't get JGL's attention, but Marion cotillard winked at me which was pretty special. But all of this has made me even more obsessed with Tom hardy haha o was I! Shame about the rain! I met Tom and Christian, gutted to miss JGL and Anne though, but it was a fun day. So awesome seeing the tumbler! More

fantastic film, multi dimensional, interesting how christopher nolan gives each film it's own atmosphere and look, independant of the last. Bane is a monster! Great performances, look forward to what nolan does next, but I want to see this film again now! think it will get better with additional viewings, awesome. More

No Gary....
Disappointing there was no Gary Oldman, but at least it meant he couldn't talk complete rubbish about the number of VFX shots in the film. 200? I don't think so Gary, might want to check on that number and maybe add several 100. VFX artists must be the only department in film that so readily have their work completely dismissed, after all they are only computer nerds. More

Awesome movie
I saw the Irish Premier of this movie last night and have to say it was amazing, They tried streaming the red carpet premier from london before the movie but it was blurry and then the sound cut out, but once they gave up on that and the movie started the absolute silence in the cinema was eerie and great. I've no gripe about the movie other than the lenght, I went to get another coke half way through and they had closed the shop haha. Came out of the cinema buzzing, wanted to discuss this with More

i didn't even mean to get sucked into the premiere, i was in london for a job interview and didn't even know it was on, so i stuck around for a few hours in the rain and enjoyed every minute of it, especially the part where i sung a beautiful rendition of video killed the radio star to hans zimmer...
