Vince Vaughn May Be A Gunslinger
In a script by Randall Wallace

16 July 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Deadline

Vince Vaughn May Be A Gunslinger

Do you think “action hero” when you hear the name Vince Vaughn? We’re not sure we do, but the man usually found in comedies clearly thinks he could give it another go, as he’s now part of a package deal for Gunslingers, written by Braveheart / We Were Soldiers scribe Randall Wallace.

According to Deadline, New Regency has nabbed the script, described as an action adventure set in modern day LA that finds iconic, heroic characters from the past colliding with contemporary reality. Does that mean classic movie types will be sharing the screen with a new hero? Only time will tell, but the film is apparently designed with two leading roles in mind, so Vaughn will be rounding up a co-star if he moves forward with the script.

As for Wallace, there’s no word on whether he plans to direct this one (as he did with Soldiers and Secretariat) but it would be interesting to see him stretch his legs, assuming this is a funnier take on the genre than we’re used to seeing from him.

Vaughn will next be seen in The Watch, due August 29, and is in the middle of shooting The Internship for director Shawn Levy.

Your Comments

Eh.
I suggest otherwise. He has built such a heavy comedic persona anything else will take away from the character the director is reaching for. More
