With the reboot tag already hanging over it, the new version of RoboCop really will have to go some to improve upon Paul Verhoeven’s iconic original. So MGM is firing the first blast of its marketing salvo in the run up to Comic-Con by launching this viral site. Take a look at the video running on it below.
Presented as an Omnicorp briefing message, it includes a look at some of the company’s projects, including aerial drone XT-908 and a certain Mr Edward-209, who has gotten a CG makeover here but still looks remarkably like Phil Tippett’s classic ‘bot. It’ll have its work cut out to match the pure charisma and comic value of the stair-hating original, but at least they seem to respect the fact that the Enforcement Droid was well designed from the outset.
As for Alex Murphy / RoboCop (played, in this film by Joel Kinnaman), we get a very brief look at part of him, and we’d be surprised if we didn’t see more at Comic-Con, even if nothing official has been announced. For more details, head to the Omnicorp site. Go take a look. You have 20 seconds to comply...
With Gary Oldman, Samuel L Jackson, Abbie Cornish and Hugh Laurie among the cast and Jose Padilha calling the shots, the new RoboCop will be out on August 9, 2013. You now have 15 seconds to comply...
The teasers for Deus EX 3 video game where better!. I also hear that Robocop wont have his face covered!!! wtf! I switched off there and then!!.... its a shame because I was looking forward to Joel as Murphy, hes perfect and awesome in The Killing. More
To be honest there has only been one good Robocop film as the second was average, the third was laughable, the TV series was painful and the cartoon blimey
So if this film does become a turkey its not going to be the first to be in bad company. More

Nowadays
These days film crews focus solely on action instead of adventure and loads of cgi, green screen/blue screen you name it they use it, and because of that they will miss the ingredients of the original. I hold little hope for this re-boot/re-make but will go to see it. I just hope they don't screw it up. More
It's a good idea, but after the Prometheus virals, it just seems a bit cheap. Kind of like an ad you'd notice in the background of the movie on a TV screen but not as advertisement for the movie. More

Omnicorp? More like Omnicrap? If this really is a video released by the filmmakers and not some fan, then whatever low expectations I had for this thing have just gone through the floor.
I can't even tell if the CG used is corporate level stuff, or is indicative of the quality we can expect from the film. If the latter - the film is doomed. DOOMED. More
