Electric City Teaser Online
Tom Hanks' new web show...

03 July 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Yahoo

The embrace of the mighty information superhighway as a portal for distribution by big-name talents continues to gather in talent. One of the latest to hop aboard the broadbandwagon is Tom Hanks, who has been developing a sci-fi animated series called Electric City, which is set to premiere later this month. The teaser trailer has arrived via Yahoo and you can watch it below.

Set in a future where the world as we know it has come to an apocalyptic end, the huge Electric City stands firm as a symbol of peace and security. But, because these things are so rarely what they seem, its polished surface belies an undercurrent of secrets and violence. The metropolis is pulsing with danger and the mystery will deepen with every episode.

With a cast that includes Hanks, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Holland Taylor, Ginnifer Goodwin, Paul Scheer, Chris Parnell and June Diane, the series promises plenty of interactivity and extra features, with fun stuff delivered via apps on the iOS and Android operating systems.

The show will launch on July 17 with the first 10 episodes, all around 5-7 minutes in length, followed by the remaining episodes on July 18 and 19.
