New UK Brave Trailer Online
Meet Merida's family...

22 June 2012  |  Written by James White

Brave is out in the US this weekend, but doesn’t hit our shores with its cine-arrows until August. In an apparent attempt to redress the balance somewhat, Disney and Pixar have put out a brand new trailer for the film that is geolocked for the UK*. Take a look below.

You likely know the story by now: Merida (Kelly Macdonald) is a headstrong, independent young princess who would much rather be riding her horse and honing her already impressive archery skills than learning to behave like a lady. When she’s told that three lord’s sons will be competing for her hand in marriage as part of an ancient tradition, it’s the last straw.

Riding off to cool her temper, Merida finds an old crone (Julie Walters) who offers the young woman a chance to change her fate. But when she accepts, she doesn’t realise the impact it’ll have on her father, King Fergus (Billy Connolly), her mother Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson) and everyone in their kingdom…

You’ll have seen some of this footage before, but this new promo offers enough fresh moments to make it enjoyable, and even lets Julie Walters’ character get a few words in. Brave arrives on August 17.

*We know this because our Man In LA (Hello!) had to cast a technomological spell to watch it.
