New Resident Evil: Retribution Trailer
Evil goes global. Again...

Paul WS Anderson seems to have turned suiting his other half (that would be Milla Jovovich) up in black leather and latex into a sort of family tradition. Every two years, she dons constricting outfits and they make another Resident Evil movie. The latest, Retribution, arrives on September 28 and the latest trailer can be experienced below.

Retribution promises more of the same from Anderson and his team, which means that those who have enjoyed what’s gone before will be delighted and those sick to the back teeth of the undead franchise will pretend it doesn’t exist.

This time around, we get to dig a little bit into Alice (Jovovich)’s past, both in terms of discovering some misapprehensions about her origins and alongside returning actors such as Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory and Oded Fehr. And the nasty Umbrella Corporation seems closer than ever to realising its goal of total destruction, with Shawn Roberts once again playing snide boss Albert Wesker.

There’s also the usual new batch of zomboids and creatures, with flying fiends, giant dangers and something new that Jovovich, talking in a live chat on Facebook before the trailer’s release this morning across the pond, wouldn’t be drawn on. We know what we’re getting nowadays with the franchise and, as ever, the ethos seems to be that the more beasties you can stuff in and the more you get Jovovich doing crazy stunts, the better…

why so angry?
Why are most just so angry at a res film? I am looking forward to buying my £6 ticket and going to get away from the daily grind of life and just go and watch something fun for 2 hours. whats wrong with that? Sometimes you dont want endless amount of plot lines and forever thinking who has done what and you just want to go watch a film that can put a smile on your face! More

Hopefully this is the END!!!
I know there are people out there who enjoy this mindless OTT shit but I'm not one of them and felt that this series has just got worse as it's gone on! From the trailer it looks even more ridiculous and possibly could be the worst one yet! With all of the lame Matrix rip off gun fights this is sooooo tiresome! Plus Milla Jovovich can't act for shit, give me Noomi Rapace any day! More

Empire's review already written?
I don't claim that the Resident Evil movies are high art but what they have always been are good fun. Milla is a likeable lead and at least each instalment has tried to up the ante each time. What I find dissapointing is the condescending tone that Empire always uses whenever they write about the series. Its almost like you guys have decided on a rating before the film comes out. How about showing some enthusiasm for a change? More

Fascinating...
...how much a trailer can bore you. More of the same? Thanks, no. It hurts to see such a great video game franchise go to waste more and more with every new sequel... :-( More
