Samsara Poster Online
Baraka follow-up gets a bright new look

15 June 2012  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen  |  Source: Exclusive

For legal reasons it's rare that we make wild, unsustainable promises, but if this spiffing new poster for non-verbal doc Samsara doesn't make your day at least 17 per cent more zen, we'll eat our tambourine.

Taking its title from the Buddhist concept of "the cycle of life" rather than, say, the perfume, it's a follow-up to Ron Fricke's Baraka. Impossible to describe without using words like "meditative", "spiritual" and "totally trippy, dude", Baraka offered a visual approach to documentary filmmaking that took viewers on a journey across the planet.

The world is a very different place these days, what with technology and Angry Birds and such, and it'll be fascinating to see Samsara reflect that without relinquishing its spiritual aspects. See for yourself from August 31.

Baraka on Blu-ray is a "must own". I'm incredibly excited about this. More
