When and if the movie goes ahead, Theron would play the female half of an American couple enjoying their honeymoon when they become implicated in a murder they witness. According to the Hollywood Reporter, it’s “an affectionate deconstruction of an Agatha Christie-style thriller.”

Despite the seemingly compelling concept, the movie has been stuck wandering through development limbo for a few years now, after it was originally set up at Disney. A couple of years ago, indie company Tower Hill rescued it from turnaround and hired Marley director Kevin Macdonald to tackle the shot-calling chores. But it lingered on, and now The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’s Madden is the man with the megaphone looking to bring James Vanderbilt’s script to life.
