See Scarlett Johansson In Under The Skin
First look at the 'alien road movie'

11 May 2012  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

As Cannes looms closer and closer, any number of exciting films are beginning to release just a tiny bit of information to titillate the assembled masses at the Festival. Now here's a first still from Under The Skin, the new Jonathan Glazer film that stars Scarlett Johansson (click to embiggen).

Here, she plays "an alien in human form" according to the rather sketchy information on offer. The result is described thus: "Part road movie, part science fiction, part real, it’s a film about seeing our world through alien eyes."

Given that Jonathan Glazer's two previous films were Sexy Beast and Birth, we're rather intrigued by this one, which should hopefully be out later this year. Meanwhile, you can get a dose of Ms Johansson in some little indie movie that's in cinemas right now. Avengers Assemble, we think it's called.

Return of Glazer!
Glazer making a welcome return, great to see him doing something that appears genuinely interesting and unpredictable. I'm very curious to see how particular film unfolds. By the sounds of it the books is something I may check out before the film. The still looks great, if that's an established aesthetic for the film then this bodes well in my opinion. More

Hmm
First reaction is she looks too pretty and her eyes are WAAAAYY too small. I'm guessing this going to take rather large liberties with the original story. Was looking forward to this, now fairly concerned. Still, excellent actress and excellent director. We live in hope... More

RE: See Scarlett Johansson In Under The Skin
She was filming outside my house 't see her though, it was a nightmare getting out of the house as there were so many crew members and security and loads of wires. Guys were still hanging about at midnight when filming had ended hours earlier. More

Based on the Michel Faber
This must be based on the novel as he's down as a writer on IMDB. So this is likely to be more of a horror movie with a lot of driving than a road movie - though I see Scarlett Johanssen is down on IMDB as "Laura" rather than Isserley, the character's name in the book. At any rate, I'll be front and centre for this when it comes out, as the book is astonishing though deeply disturbing. More
