Nicolas Cage Shows Off A Wild Side
Juno Temple aso taking a road trip

08 May 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Deadline

Nicolas Cage Shows Off A Wild Side

When you see the news that Nicolas Cage is attached to a role in a film called Wild Side, you can’t help but think, “Yup… that sounds right.” And indeed, it would appear that The Cage will be digging back into his bag of lunatic tricks to play a ruthless killer in the movie.

Jesse Baget, who co-wrote the script with Stefania Moscato, is set to direct the movie, which sees Juno Temple as Lila Belle Clyde, a beauty queen with a serious problem. See, in order to escape from New Orleans, she decides to pinch some already stolen diamonds from the nasty Odel (Cage). But things don’t quite go to plan and soon he’s on her trail, determined to recover his ill-gotten gains. And he’s not her only problem, as she has to evade the police and a dogged news reporter (Johnny Knoxville) who is also trying to track her down.

The film will kick off shooting this July in Louisiana.

Cage was last seen in Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance, and will next show up in crime drama Stolen and kidnap thriller Frozen. He’s also set to be part of Charlie Kaufman’s satirical musical Frank Or Francis. And if you need more Cage in your life, check out his epic webchat answers here. Temple, who more recently starred in Jack And Diane, has a small role in The Dark Knight Rises, which hits on July 20, and will soon be seen in William Friedkin's Killer Joe.
