Nicole Kidman Finds The Family Fang
David Lindsay-Abaire adapts another book

08 May 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Deadline

Nicole Kidman Finds The Family Fang

The last time Nicole Kidman and writer David Lindsay-Abaire collaborated, the result was Rabbit Hole, adapted from Lindsay-Abaire’s play, which led to an Oscar-nominated performance from the actress. Now they’re looking to reunite for an adaptation of Kevin Wilson’s book The Family Fang.

Kidman snapped up the rights to the tome last autumn and has been slowly developing it. Wilson’s story tracks a couple of performance artists who dragoon their kids into their bizarre antics. The unusual childhood leads to some screwed up adults who, when they return home in a state of crisis, are none too happy to be dragged back in for one, final, mysterious performance by their parents. Cue resentment, arguments and, possibly, flash mobs…

Kidman, who recently signed on to real-life POW tale The Railway Man, has a few movies awaiting release. She’ll be seen in vampire tale Stoker and Lee Daniels’ sultry thriller The Paperboy, neither of which has locked in UK release dates yet. She’s also loosely attached to Grace Of Monaco, which follows some of Grace Kelly’s life story.

Lindsay-Abaire has worked on DreamWorks Animation’s Rise Of The Guardians (due November 30) and Disney’s Oz: The Great And Powerful, which arrives here on March 8, 2013.
