Emma Watson In The End Of The World
She'll cameo in Seth Rogen's comedy

Emma Watson In The End Of The World

We’ve known for a few months now that Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel and Evan Goldberg plan to turn comedy trailer Jay & Seth Vs. The Apocalypse into a full-fledged disaster / horror / comedy. With the film now titled End Of The World, the trio is adding yet more names to an already bulging cast, with Emma Watson, Jason Segel and David Krumholtz all agreeing to cameo as themselves.

As you might suspect from the title, the film’s basic concept has Rogen and Baruchel playing themselves, holed up in a damaged apartment as the world crumbles around them.

The cast also boasts pals James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson, all playing themselves and all stuck at Franco’s place, which we figure will become uncomfortable quickly. Word is that not everyone will survive to the end…

Segel and Rogen are, of course, old pals and regular Judd Apatow collaborators stretching back to the days of Freaks And Geeks and Undeclared, which featured appearances from Krumholtz, who has also shown up in several Apatow films.

Watson is more of a leftfield choice, but she’s been happy to embrace comedy. And she’s also in Los Angeles, at work on Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring, so it’s not much of a commute. She's not the first Potter alum to be associated with this film: there were rumours of Daniel Radcliffe's involvement back last year, which ended up coming to nothing.

Rogen and regular writing / producing partner Goldberg wrote the script and are co-directing the movie, which is filming now and is set for Stateside release in June 2013. To get an idea for the likely flavour of the film, take a look at the original Apocalypse trailer below. We'll officially pitch one tagline for them right now: "It's the end of the world as they know it.... And they feel high." Cheque please!

RE: Watson embraced comedy?
L: missphoenix When has she ever done anything remotely comedic? hat does that have to do with anything? Everyone who does comedy work had to do it for the first time. Besides, so far we've only really seen her in Harry Potter...she has a lot of new films coming up and they're far different to Harry Potter. It's unfair to judge her based on those when they didn't have a great deal of comedy in for her character. More

No doubt the studio plant below is being paid to say that trailer was great. Lousy stuff. More

That was so funny the trailer seems like its on a small scale but if the action is being expanded into the horror sci fi genre mixed with rogens usual stoner humour then this could be great also the action with Franco and the other celebs holed up in an apartment fighting too the death sounds great- like a violent version of that polanski flick- carnage I have high hopes for this flick when it comes out. Give This A Miss
Just watched the trailer and it looks terrible. Two idiots roaring at each other in a crappy room with desperate toilet gags??? Yuk, no way. (Yep, Rogen is shrilly shouting his lines again at the top of his voice. Doesn't he realise there are microphones up his nose and WE CAN HEAR HIM??? Go on stage if you want to shout but that would only show you up even more as the no-talent you really are, Mr Rogen.) More

Game, Seth And Match
After watching Seth Rogen implode in The Green Hornet, I have my doubts about him as a leading man. He was seriously awful in that movie, shrilly shouting his lines at the top of his voice and being as obnoxious as humanly possible. The jury's still out on him and he can only coast on the goodwill built up by Knocked Up for so long. More
