Ed Harris Digs For Sweetwater
And January Jones wants revenge

17 April 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Deadline

Ed Harris Digs For Sweetwater

Since we’ve mostly seen January Jones as the immature, cold and calculating former Mrs Betty Draper on Mad Men, or the icy, cutting Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class, she doesn’t usually get the chance to show off her more emotional side.  That looks set to change when she stars alongside Ed Harris in Western drama Sweetwater. Well, she'll get to show her vengeful widow side at least.

Logan and Noah Miller, who last co-wrote and directed the autobiographical pic Touching Home, are set to bring to life the tale of a young widow who heads out against the backdrop of 1880s New Mexico to avenge the brutal killing of her husband by a sheep rancher.

Harris, who played a man based on the Millers' father in Home, will be the local sheriff, who offers Jones some help on her crusade to bring the killer to justice. It’s all set to go down this July in New Mexico.

Harris has been busy off late, pulling double duty on romantic comedy drama The Look Of Love besides Annette Bening and reuniting with his Rock director Michael Bay for Pain And Gain. Jones last showed up alongside Nicolas Cage in Justice. Will this be a more grown-up take on True Grit*? Only time will tell.

*As in the leading lady will be more grown up. Obviously the film itself was plenty adult.
