Pegg Scares Up Fantastic Fear Trailer
I am Jack's crippling anxiety...

06 April 2012  |  Written by James White

Have you been good today? After all, it is Good Friday. If you have behaved yourself (and, let’s face it, even if you haven’t, because this is the IntarWebz, and nobody knows), then you’re entitled to a little treat, as tweeted by Mr. Simon Pegg. We’ve been eagerly awaiting the first glimpse at footage from his latest acting gig, A Fantastic Fear Of Everything, and he’s just offered up the trailer. Take a peek below.

Directed by former Kula Shaker frontman Crispian Mills with a co-directing credit for Chris Hopewell, Fantastic Fear finds Pegg on nervy form as Jack, a children’s author switching up his career to become a crime novelist and diving headfirst into researching gruesome Victorian violence. Trouble is, Jack is a nervous wreck, and his new assignment sends him spiralling into a paranoid nightmare that forces him to confront all the lingering demons of his life. Among them? His love life, the laundrette and the origin of all fear… Oh, and a mysterious hedgehog.

From the looks of this, it could be a wild, weird little ride, dark humour blended with odd animation and an underpants-clad performance from the man himself. Also along for the ride are the likes of Paul Freeman, Clare Higgins, Amara Karan and Kerry Shale.

A Fantastic Fear Of Everything will be out on June 8, which is good news for everyone save those with a crippling fear of popcorn.

... Looks nothing like...
...Spaced (unless you are referring to when he wakes up....but there aren't exactly many ways you can film that differently, it's someone waking up). The only thing this has in common with Spaced is Simon Pegg is in it. It looks very fresh and rather dark so i'm looking forward to seeing more of it :) More

Re-esque:
Looks great. Been a while since I've seen dark humor done well. The trailer reminds me very much of Punch Drunk Love, although I would imagine much wittier. More

There are definite 'Spaced' elements in there, although mainly to do with Pegg's performance. I really like Pegg but every part he plays is basically another version of Tim Bosley. That said, I really like the look of this. Count me in. More

RE: wa-hay!
That's who it is! Also agree that it looks very like Benny and the bull. Hopefully it is not as awful as that, I kinda like the look of this. More

RE: RE:
Slightly amatuer-ish but in a good, innocent way. Reminds me off slightly of Bunny and The Bull, but much more visualy toned down. More

Liking how this looks, quite odd and indeed /i]-like. It wasn't really on my radar before but I'm quite keen to see it now. More
