Latest Battleship Trailer Docks
Liam Neeson wants everything loaded

Having unleashed its latest salvo of pyrotechnic chaos back in December, Peter Berg and his Battleship crew have returned to make sure we all realise just how big this film looks to be. Take a look at the latest trailer below.

In between a mix of footage we’ve seen before and plenty of new eye candy, this latest promo expands the story ever so slightly, upping the stakes (with one expert solemnly intoning that the alien attack marks a possible “global extinction event”) and giving us a better look at the enemy (or at least their suits).

If you haven’t already been won over to the film’s side, this likely won’t do a lot to convince you it’s not another destruction-over-detail Transformers, but on the flipside, if you were salivating at the thought of a massive scrap between the US (and Japanese) Navy and some water-loving ETs, then this will just make you that much more eager to have it arrive. We’re hoping Liam Neeson doesn’t just leave the action up to the likes of Taylor Kitsch, Jesse Plemons and Rihanna, though it’s starting to seem that way. Secretly, we want Neeson’s Admiral Shane to be smashing in a few dials on his bridge so he can coat his hands in broken glass and punch a few invaders.

Battleship sails into our cinemas on April 11, a full month before it hits the States on May 18. Dear America: We have sunk your plan to see Battleship before us!

L: Emyr Thy King Awesome avatar dude f the ve-action shorts? I at least expect some entertaining battle sequences. We haven't really seen naval warfare fully used in film and certainly not in an alien invasion scenario. There looks to be some stunning shots Berg's managed to create with the battleship firing its 16 inch guns. Plus Liam Neeson is a battleship screen presence anyway! One other interesting thing is how Berg putting a modern spin on Pearl Harbour. Having the Amer More

L: Super Hans This film looks fucking shit, but I have to admire that they're trying to convince us that a fim based on a decidedly un-thrilling, dry strategy game can be exiting as a film based on robot cars. If they've managed to fuck up the films about robot cars so bad, what hope is there for the game involving placing red and white pegs in a grid?ote] To be fair, there is scope for some tension. RE: Latest Battleship Trailer Docks
Yeah, it does look very Transformers inspired. But Peter Berg has at least a little bit more talent than Bay, so I'm holding out hope that this thing won't completely suck. Probably won't fall over myself to catch this at the flicks, though. More

L: Bosskatte The End This looks like it will, like a talented saxophonist, both blow and suck simultaneously o it's more like an overweight security guard. It'll grab you by the scruff of the neck initially, but it won't have the legs to go all the way. More

CGI is a great art form if it is used intelligently and isnt rapped by Directors/Producers/ScreenWriters who stay at home all day playing video games. More

It looks absolutely awful, nothing will convince me this is going to be anything more than pretty people blowing up pretty CGI monsters. However, with the amount of FNL alumns involved in this, I feel obligated to see it. More

It feels familiar...
The only summer blockbuster of the last 20 years this movie doesn't borrow from is Jurassic Park. But maybe trailer #5 will also have a dinosaurs in it. And Twisters. Sea Twisters that suck up whales. It would be cool to have a movie with flying whales in it. Also does anyone think the character dynamic bears a striking reseblance to Bruce Willis, Lyv Tyler and Ben Affleck in Armageddon?   It looks kind of spectacular, though. More

Aaaaarrrggghhhh
The fact that anyone (i'm looking at you danbo1138) can compare this to two Michael Bay films in one comment tells you one thing and one thing only... This film will inevitably be 2 hours of nonsensical CGI guff. If this has any semblance of a logical plot I will happily eat my own balls.... More
