Neighborhood Watch Teaser Online
The team rolls out...

01 March 2012  |  Written by James White

We’ve seen a couple of pictures of Ben Stiller and the rest of the Neighborhood Watch gang in costume from the new comedy, but now the first teaser trailer for the film has arrived.

The movie finds Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade as a group of suburban blokes who decide that forming a neighbourhood watch group is the best way to get time away from their families.

Initially, it works well: as you can see in the footage, the odd squad rolls through the ‘hood, largely dealing with minor nuisances like one egg-chucking kid. But then they discover that their town is under threat from something much more dangerous… And not quite of this Earth.

There’s no sign of the sci-fi elements in this first peek at the film, but then the producers (and director Akiva Schaffer) have been trying to keep those hidden as much as possible. Still, it looks like it could be fun, especially if Ayoade gets to have more moments such as the one here, where he takes his shades off to reveal regular glasses beneath. It's an old gag, but it never stops amusing us.

A poster for the film has also arrived online. Take a look…

If you’re after the real inside scoop on the film, you’d best get to your neighbourhood newsagent and scoop up a copy of the latest Empire, which features an exclusive chat with producer Shawn Levy.

Meh
There's nothing about that trailer that would make me want to see that movie. They'd better pump up the alien thing to make it more interesting. More
