New Still From Warm Bodies Arrives
Nicholas Hoult Is R

09 January 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Collider

While offbeat zombie tale Warm Bodies doesn’t hit here until late August, Summit Entertainment is trying to make sure we all remember it’s on the way. Which might explain why the company has released a new picture of star Nicholas Hoult as central zombie character R. Take a gander below via Collider.

This is just the latest look we’ve had at the groaning, but very different zomboid featured in the story, as he was also part of the first, disturbingly Twilight-esque image that appeared last year.

But we have faith that this is much more than a rotting flesh variation on Edward and Bella’s complicated love story. Adapted from Isaac Marion’s novel by 50/50 director Jonathan Levine, Bodies is set in a world where zombies are everywhere and the remaining human survivors are holed up in a heavily guarded city.

R is an unusual zombie: he’s still a little bit alive inside. And when he falls for Julie (Teresa Palmer) - which in the book at least follows him eating her boyfriend's brain - he becomes determined to save her from both his fellow zombies and the lethal Boneys, the next step in undead transformation. Naturally, she’s not quite so convinced, but R wins her over by swearing off flesh and defending her more than once. Trouble is, their burgeoning love is also in danger from her father (Malkovich), who is intent on wiping out the zombie menace...

Warm Bodies will be out on August 24.
