Paranormal Activity 4 Is Official
Least surprising news of the day!

03 January 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Paranormal Activity 4 Is Official

We’re just a couple of days into the New Year, but already a possibility for Least Surprising News Of 2012 has reared its headline-strapped noggin. No, we don’t mean the likely Oscars for everyone involved in Adam Sandler’s next film; we’re referring to Paramount officially announcing that work will kick off on Paranormal Activity 4.

A fourth outing for the low-budget supernatural franchise was inevitable once the third film scored $202.2 million worldwide based on a $5 million budget and featuring the shooting skills of Catfish duo Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.

So while the studio has yet to decide on a date for the movie (Halloween 3D is set for October 26), work is already underway to develop the new Paranormal outing. Given how the series has so far travelled back in time, we expect the latest entry to focus on Katie being troubled by demonic issues while in the womb.

What we don’t know for sure so far is who will be involved in making it, but producers Jason Blum, Oren Peli and Steven Schneider will of course be back to oversee things.

RE: Paranormal Activity 4 Is Official
The first one was great and would have been better had it finished two seconds sooner. The final jump-scare was idiotic and out of sync with the rest of the film. The second one was just as enjoyable and, while 3 was inferior, I'd still take stuff like this over dreck like Hostel. The 'found footage' gimmick works well in the genre. More

PA4 could be set in 1992 in PA1 you see some video tapes marked Katie & Ali 1988 & 1992. Personally I'd like find out what's happening to Hunter since the demon now has his hands on the first male born in the family in decades. More

L: horribleives L: Whistler Don't care, don't care, don't care. I was so disappointed with PA3. It just ruined everything the first two films created for the sake of action. point in either PA1 or 2 did Katie mention the fact that as a kid, the demon that was currently haunting her hoisted her up by her hair, dragged her from her bed into a closet, killed her step-dad, and her grandma was part of a cult that worshipped said demon?. She said "A shadowy figure used to stand at More
