UPDATE: It's A Dark Knight Mystery
What does this document mean?

09 December 2011  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Exclusive

submit to reddit

Update: we've just spotted a third page of this mysterious file on Twitter, @thefirerises. Fans of The Dark Knight Rises will remember that that was a name associated with the first picture of Bane, unveiled gradually a few months back, so we can now consider it confirmed that this is all a Nolan mind-game to keep us amused. This third document leads in turn to this Operation Early Bird website, which should go live in a few hours. Check back then to see what's in store...

...

Some days at Empire Towers are not filled with the arrival of secret, faked CIA documents that carry with them an air of promise and mystery. And then there are days like today, where the image you see below shows up in our inbox.

Now, unfortunately, our contact was very specific that we can’t tell you what this transcript is exactly. Who gave it to us? It was sent from an encrypted server with no possibility of tracing it (we have a very high tech system here that involves a divining rod and a hamster in a wheel). It was passed to us exclusively as part of a clue to an upcoming event. Which specific event? Can’t say.

Click the image above to see a larger version

But we did hit Google and searched the name listed in the transcript and came up with another document, one posted to Wired’s blog yesterday. Make of that what you will, and let the speculation begin!

RE: Tickets!!!
According to the website, the 'first come, first served' aspect relates to getting the tickets on the website. It does say if you are unable to attend you should let them know. In their FAQ section they say that they only have set ticket allocations to give out, and once it's gone it's gone! I guess if there are still tickets available after the weekend, then chances are that something is up, but I would look for these to 'sell out' soon! More

Who is Dr Leonid Pavel viral campaign.
It's part of the viral campaign for The Dark Knight Rises and concerns Dr Leonid Pavel, played by Alon Aboutboul. There is also a mock up of a photocopied wanted poster to go with it. Do they not think we're looking forward to this movie enough, that we'd forget if they didn't pull these type of stunts? More

I looked the I.P. address up for 223.225.2355.889 (the numbers from the top and bottom of the two documents) you get a location near York, but it says the domain is not supported. I have no idea if this means anything, and barely know what you can do with that information. More

RE:
Okay I take back my comment that it couldn't be TDKR. I really do want it to be TDKR btw. This stuff always make me so anxious to see the movie I just go crazy. I know, I'm nuts. Plus it seems kind of silly to go viral with things if they only just started shooting Skyfall. So any anticipation build right now would be useless once the movie's actually out. There are actors on the IMDB cast list that don't have a character name yet so that could be why you can't find the name anywhere else bu More

RE: IP address?
I had thatn thought re-ip address, and the other image from empire has 2355-889 at the top. Doesnt do anything though unfortunately! Bond!
I'm guessing Skyfall, Bond. Because Nolan I think would only use excisting characters from the DC comics universe and if you google the name Pavel, there aren't any hits, apart from links to this document about a hundred times. And if it is an existing character you would be able to find at least one or two pages about the character. So I'm guessing it's Bond. More
