haven't seen the movie but do read a lot of jack reacher books, just got a new one shot and its the fist one that does not have jacks sats in the front. Having now seen the movie I would like to offer congratulations to all involved. What a superb flick. Beautifully acted, produced and delivered. The plot was faithful to the book, script was intelligent and supported a completely coherent plot (something of a novelty these days). I note Cruise produced the movie so hopefully he has the rights to all the books. I love your books Lee, but you obviously don't understand what your fans love most about Jack. A scalpel just doesn't cut it (no pun intended). A big part of what makes Reacher such a loved character IS that he can walk into a bar full of bad guys and decimate them. His imposing presence is what we want to see. It was the first feature I read in the new issue. Child makes fair comments on Cruise being the actor of his generation. When he's "acting", he's great. But the rest of the article reeked of him protecting his nest egg. Connery had to win Fleming over, we know; but TC seems to be light years away from Reacher. Well if that is his opinion, then my estimation of him as a writer and creator of a brilliant character has gone down significantly...
