Ed Speleers Feels The Love Bite

It’s been a while since we’ve heard much from Ed Speleers, who had the misfortune of his “big break” being fantasy flop Eragon. Since then, he’s notched up a few film roles, and will be seen in this week’s thriller A Lonely Place to Die alongside web chat subject Melissa George. But he’s also aboard a slightly less sensible movie, having nabbed a role in Andy de Emmony’s horror comedy Love Bite.

Bite, which will also feature The Borgias’ Luke Pasqualino and Piranha’s Jessica Szohr, follows what happens when a small, dead-end town is thrown into chaos after a werewolf starts snacking on the residents. It would seem that the beast is targeting the local virgins (who, let’s face it, usually, get a bad run of things in horror movies) and four friends decide that if they’re going to survive, they might just need to think about losing their own virginities. Kids today, eh? Any excuse…

Working from a script by Ronan Blaney and Cris Cole, de Emmony – who last made East is East follow-up West is West – plans to kick off shooting in Scotland at the start of next month. We’re sure all involved will be crossing their fingers that it turns out on the success level of, say, Dog Soldiers rather than Lesbian Vampire Hunters

Richard Rifkin I played Horst the Blacksmith and worked with Ed in Eragon and he was a charming young man and seemed to work hard. As the Eragon series really should have been a hit Ed deserves after the Eragon fiasco to climb up the success ladder. Wishing you the best Ed. More
