The Oxford English Dictionary defines 'contagion' as 'the transmission of a disease by direct physical contact with an infected person'. Despite the lack of mention for zombies there - an obvious oversight - it's a neat summary of the plight facing the complement of A-listers Steven Soderbergh has assembled for his new bio-thriller.
But will Contagion be a high-class Outbreak, minus the monkeys and sneeze-cam, or an artier study of humans under duress? Judging by this new one-sheet, probably a little of both. Joining a very poorly looking Gwyneth Paltrow (see, all those mung beans won't stop a pandemic) are Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law and Kate Winslet as the men and women afflicted by the movie's mysterious global virus.
Its marketing campaign in full swing, Contagion has already unleashed suitably icky-coloured character banners below and a nerve-fraying trailer on the world.
All it'll take now is an a outbreak of sniffles in the Empire office and we're coming to work in orange chem suits.
This looks great with a cracking cast and director, and as with BenTramer, I had never heard of it before either! The only things that give me doubt is the really cheap looking red cell SFX when writing is on the screen and Jude Law's over the top accent, you know it's bad when a Brit makes an English accent sound fake and forced! @BenTramer: Then, let's hope it's not a "disaster-movie"^^
No, seriously, there are 14 oscar nominations and three wins united in one cast, they got to be able to pull something decent off. Plus, the director is not an amateur neither, so I'm positively thrilled :-) More

The Armageddon All-Stars
I've heard nothing about this movie before, but it looks good. And a genuine all-star cast. Soderbergh is a fine director too. It seems to be as much a political conspiracy involving viruses as much as it is a disaster movie. Looking forward to it. More
