Ryan Phillippe Getting Straight A's

Despite scoring the services of a decent cast, Nu Image and Millennium Films have been keeping the status of their new comedy Straight A’s very much under wraps. But with the film having just kicked off filming in Louisiana, the information is now out there, with word that Ryan Phillippe, Anna Paquin, Luke Wilson and The Beaver’s Riley Thomas Stewart are all aboard.

Phillippe will play a man who has been in and out of rehab for a decade, and who is convinced by his mother's ghost to return to the family he abandoned years ago. So he sets out for Louisiana with few possessions save a bag of pills and a big sack of marijuana. When he gets to the family home, he confronts his older brother (Wilson) and faces his sister-in-law (Paquin) who is still pining for him ever since they were a couple.

Then there’s his son (Stewart), who hasn’t seen his father for a while. If you ask us, it sounds more heartbreaking than funny at the moment...

Wonderland director James Cox is calling the shots on this one, working from a script by Dave Cole.
