I can't believe fans of Dredd are so dismissive of that look.
f I can fan the flames a bit, I think a fairly direct translation of the uniform could be done and I personally would have preferred it. As it is, its just okay. Also agree about the chin. Needs a bit of prosthesis to beef it up.S More

I think simply having Dredd on the cover has taken everyone by surprise and the huge 'blockbuster' one character only usual stance being replaced with a smaller budget feature has got people's knickers in a twist.
is version a chance guys, okay the costume is ropey as f*ck but the other aspects of it may be spot on.
t certainly won't be hollywood 'glamour' like the '95 version was.

These cover shots never look particularly good though. Too much lighting and too staged, and whats going on with his face?
I think this will look on film though, very much a throwback to the original artwork as has been noted.

The images inside are quality. Slightly off topic but I've got to say, I'm not convinced about the bike design I've seen, the handle bars seem too low and close to the riders body making him sit too upright, I think they should move them up so the rider is leaning forward more over where the gas tank usually is.
Any thoughts ? More

@oli_huts: Original costumes only work for some comic book movies. Ala Spiderman, Fantastic Four, if they're not too over the top. How exactly would a grey and black, lycra-clad batman fit into Nolan's gritty real-world batman? Or a yellow and black striped Wolverine, with ear wings, look in X-Men? Or the original Optimus Prime!?

I got the subscribers issue today (the cover is freakin epic FYI, much better than this cover that looks like something a GCSE media studies student might make) and if you actually look inside it, there are some pics of Judge Dredd and he looks BADASS. Ok, so I've never read any of the comics or whatever, but just don't mock it at the first hurdle. I mean, you look at the Batman Begins batsuit. I think Dredd looks decent however Bats and Spidey are badly photoshopped in, looks like a last minute rush job. My bet is they planned a purely Dredd based cover, then the accountants came on board at the last minute and said "this won't sell without Batman" or something to that effect. Hence the recycled image from TDK and a crap Spidey pic pasted onto the sides. More
