New Captain America Poster Is Here!
International one-sheet looks good

30 June 2011  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

New Captain America Poster Is Here!

Here's a treat for a Thursday afternoon: a new Captain America: The First Avenger poster is here, and it's a doozy. Showing Chris Evan's Cap alongside friends and allies rather than all on his lonesome for the first time, this even gives us a bit of a peek at bad guy Red Skull to boot.

The film, for those who haven't been paying attention, sees Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, a weedy guy who isn't permitted to do as much for his country as he hopes in World War II because he's just too puny. Enter a Super Soldier Serum which makes him all buff and stuff - but which also makes him a target for Nazi scum, especially Hugo Weaving's Red Skull.

Also starring Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark (father of Tony), Tommy Lee Jones as the Colonel overseeing the project, Stanley Tucci as the science genius behind it and Hayley Atwell as the British friend Steve makes, this is shaping up rather well if the latest trailer is anything to go by.

Captain America: The First Avenger is out here on July 29, directed by Joe Johnston.

RE: Looks Good?
Could have done better. Less is more. It feels like they just layered hundreds of smokey brown textures then dumped the character shots on top. More

Looks Good?
It looks atrocious! I really hope that Marvel aren't going to use this to promote the film; previous posters have looked far, far better. More

Since you asked...
It's dull and static like a tired paperback from the mid-50's, but technically fine and well-executed. More

RE: It's good but...
Not bad, is Peggy one of the Howling Commando's? More

It's good but...
...I massively preferred the hand-painted, 1940's style one that was released a little while ago. That would have been a ballsy move if they'd released that one... More

Uhhh
Reminds me of that awful iron man 2 poster. The film will be good but must of spent all the money on it with nothing left over for the poster. More
