Shark Night 3D Trailer Bites The Web
Your worst fears are about to surface...

26 May 2011  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Apple

It must be Trailer Day in Hollywood, as no less than three promos have already cropped up already. We had The Smurfs, then things got a little classier with George Clooney in Alexander Payne’s The Descendants and now we’re in horror genre mode for Shark Night 3D. You can check out the trailer over at Apple.

The setup for Shark Night 3D – directed by Snakes on a Plane/The Final Destination’s David R Ellis – couldn’t be simpler. A bunch of attractive twentysomethings head to a remote lake house on an island in the Louisiana Gulf. But their hopes for a drink-and-sex-fuelled fun time are rudely interrupted when a group of sharks take a liking to their taught, juicy flesh. Cue screaming, crying, flailing and buckets of blood.

But while the pitch has been straightforward for a while now, the trailer drops hints that there’s something much more nefarious going on, pointing towards Shark Night being more than just a creature feature, with signs that maybe our heroes and heroines aren’t just the subject of random attacks, but are the targets of some rather dangerous local types. So… killer beast meets slasher trope, anyone? Take a look and let us know your thoughts.

The likes of Sara Paxton, Joel David Moore, Chris Carmack, Chris Zylka, Christine Quinn and Damon Lipari star in the film, which is out on September 23.

RE: Local slasher types?!
Um, it was incredibly obvious? Do you think she accidentally got stuck in a sinking shark cage? Not to mention the rather conspicuous line "someone put them there!" It's like a mix between Lake Placid and Deep Blue Sea, only worse. Seriously, this looks atrocious. I despise the gimmick of blasting debris towards the camera, just because it's 3D. The only good use of 3D I've seen so far was in Jackass 3D and a few select animated films. But this? So disappointing. I love shark flicks, even if th More
